A week of painting, working simultaneously on a pair of, yet the frustration engendered by seasonally slow drying led to the decision to repaint the half-finished efforts in rapid one-sitting style, perhaps a little influenced by the concurrent reading of 'Frank Auerbach: Speaking and Painting', Catherine Lampert's wonderful book on the subject, an inspiration indeed to any painter or anyone, indeed, with an interest in painting the thoughts & methods of painters, thoroughly recommended.
The results of the process being more thickly painted & textured than has been the norm, & purposely whiter too: here's the first example of what might be 'the new painting'...
