The portrait subject of the latest drawing in the Project is Mario
Gonzalez, who was represented in both the FKS & Panini World Cup ’74
collectors’ sticker albums & chosen as a member of the official Uruguay
squad for the Finals, although he was not picked in the team to make an
appearance in any of the Uruguayans’ three unsuccessful First Round matches,
thus condemning him to anonymity for those of us experiencing the World Cup via
the televised coverage.
